Residential cleaning and support workers perform housekeeping
and other home management duties, well as, provide short-term
home support services for individuals and families during
periods of incapacitation or convalescence. Theyare employed
by private households and home care agencies. Live-in caregivers
are not included within this occupation.
Main duties of Residential Cleaning & Support
Workers
Residential cleaning and support workers perform some or all
of the following duties:

Perform routine housekeeping and other home management duties
•
Plan and prepare meals and special diets and may serve meals
•
Administer bedside and personal care to clients such as aid
in ambulation, bathing, personal hygiene, and dressing and
undressing
Employment
requirements of Residential Cleaning & Support Workers
• Some secondary school education is usually
required. • Home management experience
or courses in home support
may be required.
• First aid certification and CPR may
be required
