1) What types of positions are the candidates interested
in?
Employment varies according to the HRSDC Expedited Labour
Market Opinion
(E-LMO) Pilot Project. Many of our candidates are seeking
employment as: Retail Salespersons, Front Desk Clerks, Room
Attendants, Food and Beverage Servers, Residential Cleaning
Workers, and Construction Labourers.
2) What is required of me as an employer?
Employers cover transportation costs from and to the worker’s
country of residence. Employers also pay for medical coverage
until their workers are eligible for provincial health insurance
coverage. Employers are expected to register their workers
with the appropriate provincial workers compensation/workplace
safety insurance plans.
3) What type of education or experience do the candidates
have?
Our candidates all have work experience outside their home
countries. All have high school diplomas and many have post-secondary
education.
4) What English level do the candidates have?
Our candidates all come form countries where English is an
official language. They can effectively communicate in both
spoken and written English.
5) Is there a lot of paper work for the companies
to fill out?
We will help you with all of the paperwork. The following
applications are required.
- First application to qualify for the pilot project: Employers
must identify the occupations that they anticipate hiring
foreign workers and meet all the requirements of the pilot.
- Second application to receive expedited labour market opinions:
Employers can apply for occupations that were approved by
Service Canada if they agree to meet the conditions of employment
for the occupation. Applications will be processed within
five (5) business days of Service Canada having received them
when all the information requested is provided.
6) How long is the candidate's commitment to the employer?
The candidate is entitled to stay and work in Canada for a
maximum of 24 months. After 24 months, each employee must
leave for at least 4 months.
