Temporary Resident Visas - After Applying
Once you've applied for your temporary resident visa to visit Canada, all you can do is wait. Most visas are processed within a month or less, but be aware that processing times vary according to visa office (some have higher application volumes than others).
Temporary Resident Visa - Things to Remember After You Apply
While you're waiting to see if your temporary resident visa is approved, it's a good time to ensure all of your other travel documents, such as your passport, are in order. In addition, if any of your contact information changes during this time, such as your address or phone number, you should notify the visa office immediately.
Temporary Resident Visa - How Applications are Processed
After reviewing your application and accompanying documents, your visa officer will notify you if an interview and/or medical examination are required. If your application is approved, your visa and documents will be returned. If not, you will receive all of your documents along with an explanation for the refusal.
Temporary Resident Visa - No Guarantees
Be aware that just because you have been granted a temporary resident visa does not mean that you will be granted entry into Canada automatically. Reasons for refusal include a change in your circumstances or the discovery of false information in your application.
